Hello all you gorgeous girls! How is everyone doing? It is getting too cold here in delhi and personally I am loving it! But only those days when I can lounge around in my pjs, have my cuppa coffee and cookie butter with me in my warm rajai and just sit with my laptop—blogging! And what could be better than someone making my lounging moments all the more better by sending across new makeup to try out!
So if you know anything of me—I am a sucker for brands which are based out of India! Be it Essence, Catrice, Makeup Revolution, MUA, Benefit, Urban Decay or The Balm cosmetics—I want it all! And since the time MUA had launched these gorgeous Luxe Whipped Velvet lip cream line I was drooling so bad and finally I had it! Yay!
What MUA has to say about the product?
Sweep this luxurious Whipped Velvet over your lips for an ultra-soft and subtle pop of colour. This super smooth new formulation would not dry out your lips ensuring you have the perfect pout at all times.
MUA Tips:
Try using MUA’s Clear Lip Liner before applying to ensure your colour stays in place.
Price and Quantity: INR 695/- for 6 ml Available here
Ingredients:
Mineral Oil, Myristyl Lactate, Dimethicone (and) Cetearyl Dimethicone, Crosspolymer, Polyisobutene, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Mica, Petrolatum, Beeswax, Microcrystalline Wax, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Ozokerite, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Nylon-12 (+/-) CI 77019, CI 77891, CI 15850, CI 45410, CI 19140, CI 77492, CI 77499
Packaging:
Except for the super classy black scre-top lid and the velvety black font in which all the details are printed on to the product tube—there is nothing as such too exciting about the product! Just a regular see through lip-gloss kind of packaging which feels really okayish and is a sturdy deal to carry along in your bag! Though I personally love the applicator as it is quite apt for a precise application! All in all thumbs up to the classy packaging!
Texture and Finish:
I had always been lusting over MUA luxe velvet whipped lip creams—I mean, you heard the name right? What’s not to lust? They sound so damn luxuriant and velvety, don’t they? Plus the product goes on super smooth on to the tips, and the butter like (no, not in a bad way) texture of the lip cream helps the lips to look so much smoother! I mean I wouldn’t recommend applying any lip product, not even glosses on dry, flaky lips—but if you are the super lazy kinds and do not care to exfoliate your lips each time you use a lippie—this velvet lip cream will cover up for you pretty well! I mean it will not look the most glorious atop flaky lips, but it ain’t gonna be that bad either! It does not settle into fine lines or attract attention to them, so it is pretty forgiving a texture if you ask me!
Shade, Pigmentation and Coverage:
The only downer (and quite a major one at that) I had to witness with the MUA luxe velvet whipped lip cream in shade Chichi is the shade itself and its oh-god-why kind of sheer pigmentation! I mean it is almost like a neutral gloss with only tiniest hint of peachy undertones and no shimmer at all! You know just your daily wear nude gloss which does not add much colour to your lips! I build it up at times for the colour to show up but being such a corally-peach shade I think it does nothing to brighten up my skin! About coverage—nada! It does not cover up pretty much anything but is a great top-off to your regular pink, peach, orange and even nude lipsticks!
So why would you want to purchase it?
-classy packaging
-utterly smooth texture
-goes on creamy
-does not settle in between fine lines
-pretty forgiving on dry patchy lips
-okayish daily wear nude gloss top-coat
Why I think you should give it a miss?
-feels a little pale for Indian skin tone
-does nothing to brighten up your skin
-highly sheer in pigmentation with low coverage
-does not stay for long
-transfers easily and cannot survive meals
