Maybelline NY Color Show lipstick in Cherry Crush-review, swatches

As you all know that Maybelline launched a lot of bright shades in their Color Show range, last year. This range has been quite popular in the Indian market due to its affordable price and lovely colors. I have reviewed few shades of this range here but today I'm here with another shade from the Color Show range- Cherry Crush!

Packaging

The Maybelline Color Show Lipsticks come in a regular black case. The sticker at the bottom indicates the color name and number. The lipstick is based on click close mechanism so you can carry it easily. Overall the packaging is not apealing at all. It's just a simple, sturdy lipstick case.

Shade

This shade Cherry Crush is a medium pink colour. Under different lightings, it may look reddish or orangish but on swatching the true colour appears. The almost pink colour is quite unusual, very different from Fuchsia Flare. I am pretty bored of the usual dark pink shades that every other brand is launching nowadays in India, so this colour adds to some variety. 

Texture and Pigmentation

Like other Color Show lipsticks, this shade is also very moisturising & lies somewhere between matte and glossy. It offers medium coverage in two swipes due to it's creamy formula. The pigmentation is decent and you can swipe it once to get a lighter shade or 2-3 times for a darker colour.

Application & Effect

It glides on the lips very smoothly and feels very light weight on the lips. It may settle into some fine lines after a couple of hours. If you don't have super chapped lips, you wouldn't have to moisturise your lips beforehand because this liptick is very moisturising itself. The shade instantly reminds me of spring & will look great on fair to medium toned beauties. 

3 swipes- Clicked indoors

Lasting power

After 3-4 hours, the lipstick starts staining unevenly. So a retouch is definitely required. Nothing unusual for a creamy formula lip colour.

Finally...

I'm pretty impressed with this shade because it is pretty diffrent from the usual pinks and reds. I'm surely going to use it pretty often in spring/summer because it's light weight, moisturising & beautiful! Recommended to all those who are looking a a budget friendly lipstick & a nice shade to add in their lipstick collection.
