Orange Eyeshadow – Best trick to cover up under eye dark circles!

I was always intrigued by “Color Correcting” but never really gave it much thought – until recently! The dark circles under my eyes and around my mouth have been more prominent now than ever before and adding a basic concealer to cover up was making those areas look very “grey”, not cute!

So after some quick research, I thought I would try this orange concealer trick! I didn’t have an orange concealer handy so I opted to use an orange eyeshadow instead (MAC: Orange eyeshadow). A lot of people recommend using red/orange lipstick but I can just imagine the creasy hot mess within an hour so the eyeshadow was definately a safer choice for me.

And guess what? The trick actually worked!

IMG_1590Without getting too technical, the way the orange shade works to cover up the dark circles is basically how the universal color wheel works:

(Orange cancels out the blue)

You can keep this color wheel on hand for future reference if you have other problem areas on the face that you would like to correct.

Instead of giving you a detailed text step-by-step of how I use the orange concealer, I thought I would show you visual step by steps:

See! It works! And doesn’t make you look cray either!)

For anyone wondering if the eyeshadow creases – it doesn’t! And yes, you can apply liquid over powder.

If text/pictures isn’t your thing – check out my detailed step by step video tutorial below:
