I am not Gujarati but love the 9 days of dancing and celebrations! I never get a chance to go out for Garba – but this year our friends invited us to join them for a night out of dancing and fun and we just knew we had to go!
Quick look I did using my Anastasia Beverly Hills – Tamanna Palette! Super easy and it only took me about 15-20 mins to complete my entire face:
I FINALLY had a chance to wear this pretty little outfit that I bough in India YEARS ago! Does it look familiar? It is the same outfit I wore in my Indian Bridal makeup:
I know it’s not “Trendy” or what everyone else is wearing but I am not the one to follow trends – I just love how pretty the outfit is with all the amazing details.
For those of you who don’t know what Garba is – It is dancing around in circles (and OMGsh! Some of the dances are VERY fast!) to traditional gujarati songs. SO fun! Then towards the end of the night, you dance with “sticks” in groups:
The Garba was held at an Elementary School in NJ – the entire place was PACKED! We got there around 9:00 and left at 1:00 am and the party was no where near over! The “Sticks”
Love how everyone dances with one another!
I loved getting to learn all about Garba and trying it out myself. Let’s just say, its not as easy as it looks!
For my makeup? It seriously held up all night! See for yourself (this is after 6 hours of application and still looks flawless!):
