Hey beautifuls, as you know I am a big foodie and spend a good amount of time in the kitchen trying to make new dishes. I love prawns and mostly I make it with just plain onions and tomato with some garlic & green chillies. But today I thought of giving some extra touch of spices.
Spicy Prawn Curry
Ingredients:
250g small sized prawns
1 onion chopped
1 tomato chopped
4 cloves garlic chopped
1 teaspoon ginger paste
2 tablespoons yogurt
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/4 teaspoon sugar
a pinch of garam masala powder
2 tablespoons oil
Salt to taste
In a pan add 1 table spoon oil, and toss fry the chopped onion, tomato, garlic and ginger till everything is browned. Keep aside to cool. Meanwhile very lightly toss the prawns marinated with a little vinegar or lime juice and salt/turmeric. Keep aside. Blend the fried onion mix to a paste adding the yogurt, coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, sugar & salt. In the same oil which you tossed the prawns, fry the spicy onion paste till oil oozes. Add water and the prawns and keep it covered for a while to form a thick gravy. Once you think it is done, sprinkle some garam masala powder and serve hot with rice. You can add some fresh cream and coriander sprigs too.
